About Us
Visual Pollution is Producer/Editor Megan Leonard and Writer/Director Peter Edlund, a production team specializing in narrative storytelling for film, music videos and branded content.

Their most recent film, Mixtape Marauders, premiered at the prestigious Academy-qualifying Aspen ShortsFest in April of 2017. It continued to screen at festivals across the United States including Palm Springs and in the opening night program of the Seattle International Film Festival, and won awards at Portland and Bend. Internationally, the film was nominated for Best Short at Raindance in London, and in the international competition Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival in France. It received a Vimeo Staff Pick Premiere for its online release in April of 2018, and was also featured by Short of the Week.

Their 2014 film, The New West received a Vimeo Staff Pick and was featured by Short of the Week. Their 2016 release Chase the Clouds, a collaboration with Stranger Genius Music Award Winner Erik Blood, was again selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick and Seattle Met magazine said, “it’s hard to imagine the powerful clip won’t go down as the best Seattle music video of the year.”

Outside of his collaborations with Megan, Peter works as a freelance director. He recently wrote and directed a series of videos for SMCU highlighting “Seattle Originals” like Rainier Beach basketball coach Mike Bethea and activist Estela Ortega, for which he received two Silver Tellys and a Northwest Marketing Award.

Megan has been a programmer for the Seattle International Film Festival for the last eight years, where she leads the New American Cinema team and is the Lead Shorts Programmer. She’s also programs at Indie Memphis and Cucalorus, and served on the jury at Fantastic Fest in Austin, TX.
