About Us
Visual Pollution is Producer/Editor Megan Leonard and Writer/Director Peter Edlund, a production team specializing in narrative storytelling for film, music videos and branded content.

Their most recent short film Mixtape Marauders has screened at festivals including Aspen Shortsfest, Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival, Palm Springs International ShortsFest, and Raindance Film Festival. It was awarded Short of the Week’s 2019 Best Comedy of the Year, was a Vimeo Staff Pick Premiere, and received a nomination for Vimeo’s 2018 Comedy of the Year. Megan is a 2019 Sundance Creative Producing Summit fellow and both Megan and Peter attended 2020 Sundance Talent Forum with the feature adaptation.

Their 2014 film, The New West received a Vimeo Staff Pick and was featured by Short of the Week. Their 2016 release Chase the Clouds, a collaboration with Stranger Genius Music Award Winner Erik Blood, was again selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick and Seattle Met magazine said, “it’s hard to imagine the powerful clip won’t go down as the best Seattle music video of the year.”

Outside of his collaborations with Megan, Peter works as a freelance director. He recently wrote and directed a series of videos for SMCU highlighting “Seattle Originals” like Rainier Beach basketball coach Mike Bethea and activist Estela Ortega, for which he received two Silver Tellys and a Northwest Marketing Award.

Outside of her work with Peter, Megan has produced multiple award-winning short films and videos which have premiered at festivals around the globe. Additionally Megan has worked for film festivals since 2010 and is currently the New American Cinema and ShortsFest Programmer at Seattle International Film Festival. She has also programmed for Indie Memphis, DOC NYC, and Cucalorus, served as a mentor at SXSW and Film Independent Forum, and on juries at Fantastic Fest, Cleveland International Film Festival and Sound Unseen.
